THIS IS MY LOT, BEAUTIFUL STRANGERS.

Glass Menagerie lectures have been thought-provoking, but I run dry after a while.
Today, Ms Teo quoted something which particularly struck me:

" 'Reality' is the one word in the English language that should always be enclosed by inverted commas."

Because reality is always coloured by our own experiences and this is after all, a mental universe. There is no single reality; it can only be confined to ones' perspectives and situation.

Nonetheless, there are truths which I hold on to as indubitable realities. So if 'reality' is relative, what's mine?

God, family, friends, irregular moments of joy, tinges of let-downs, questionable tears, concoctions of emotions and the like, commitments (some strung from the heart, others out of sheer responsibility), unpredictable health and impending death. And with the details entirely drawn out from that cumulative list of realities, I'm guessing it may very well sound familiar.

We are all dying people, from the moment who breathed our first.

Don't project the morbidity of this. It makes sense!

" & so it is, just like the way you said it would be."
